Upon arrival in Garowe, our team will assist with immigration and arrange a pickup for the 225-kilometer drive to Eyl, once a major operational center for pirates, where trade and ransom negotiations took place. Travel through the Nugaal region, passing nomadic communities and herds of camels, goats, and cows grazing across the plains. After 60 km, stop at Salaam village for lunch, savoring traditional Somali dishes. After the meal, enjoy a refreshing cup of organic Somali tea made with camel milk, a thirst-quenching local specialty. Continue the journey, racing against time to witness the breathtaking sunset before reaching Eyl. The city is divided into two parts: Badey, near the shoreline, and Daawad, on the hilly side, connected by a long ridge and surrounded by rolling hills. Wake up before sunrise and climb up the Italian Lighthouse Fort for a breathtaking view. Afterward, head to Mama Aisha Guesthouse Restaurant for breakfast, enjoying goat liver and Anjeer (Somali pancake). Explore Daarta Sayidka Fort and Eyl Garden, then visit the stoned throne of Said Abdulla Hassan (Mad Mullah, as known by the British Protectorate)—as the terrain is hilly, wearing hiking shoes is recommended. Continue to the open-air art museum, then enjoy a swim and boat ride at Eyl Beach. Return to the hotel, check out, pack up, and begin the journey back to Garowe. On the way, stop at Salaam, repeating the same experience before arriving in Garowe City in the evening.
